Stop Motion- Using Final Cut Pro

To create your fabulous stop motion movies from your images, you need to open “Final cut pro”. From her you need to import your images to start your movie. To do this go File, Import select Files or Folders. After selecting this, a box will appear and here is where you select the images (files) or folders of images you want in your movie/s.

After your images have been imported and are on display down the left side. The easiest way to edit them now is to highlight the images and drag them to the timeline below.

To change the duration of an image in the movie there are many ways .The best way, if you wish to change all/ many of the images to the same duration. Highlight the image you wish to change, right click. Now select Duration, from here a box will appear where you can change the length of all the images. Once you have the desired time click on OK and this will then change the duration of each image that was highlighted.

If you need to rotate your footage to a portrait angle then you will first need to merge all your images into one clip. To do so you need to highlight all your images on the timeline, as done so before, and then select Sequence, Nest Item(s).
This will then bring up this window in which you need to just click 'OK'. This will then merge all the clips into one.
Rotating the video: To do so you need to first click on the ‘[ ]’ symbol, then scroll down the drop down menu and click on wireframe. Now you can resize and rotate the video to the way you want it. Now you are happy with the result you need to select the ‘[ ]’ button again and select Image.

If you have a red line on your timeline and the video will not play anything that is under the red line, you will need to Render All. To do so select Sequence, Render all, then select both.

stop motion- skittles film

For this film I used about two big bags of skittles (mostly ate them before the film). As well I used windows movie maker on my pc, I find I prefer "final cut pro" on the Mac because it seems easier and faster to use.
I did this stop motion as a response to jojogirl34's skittle stop motion: as seen in earlier post.
If I were to do this film again I would find a song that fitted the film better, plus make the stop motion less simple.

stop motion- location movie ( tiny hat )

For our location movie, we shot the film in the park behind the college. This film is about a hat chasing a bottle, trying to eat it. The film is to the song Yakety Sax by Benny Hill (a song used in many old British chases.)
To edit this movie, I used the software "final cut pro". I also did two versions of the film, I prefer the shorter version as I like the sequences, however I feel the song fits and ends better with the longer version (second try).

stop motion -Xbox 360 in used with its Kinect System

today we have been looking and experimenting with kinect systems, for this we have been using the Xbox 360 kinect. kinect systems can be interpreted and used in many medias such as education, science, music, sport, medical, manufactacturing and much more.
we also have been finding out how kinect movement is part of stop motion projects. the are links together as they are both forms of animation.
a the kinect sensor for objects such as the Xbox is a way of detecting movement, and and from this be able to animate people, actions and objects.  we recorded the evidents of our exqiriment using the fliptop cameras

this is a video, in which they talk about how the senor sees the person, and reacts to it.

Stop Motion- Jojo's work

JoJoGirl34
here is one of many of jojo's stop motion video's. this one is about skittles, there is also a behind the scences video, showing how she did this fantastic display of colour and imagination. i love how much time and effort she has put into this video, great outcome, and easier said than done stop motion. This work of hers has inspired me in my work because I wish to do a stop motion on skittle as well, but a shorter and simpler design. I love when the skittles move across, so colourfully.
